Vendere la tua barca tramite un broker associato

How a sale works on KeelFair, what to prepare, and what buyers will see on your listing.

Passo dopo passo

  1. Choose a member brokerage

Boats on KeelFair are listed by brokerages, not by private sellers. Pick a brokerage near the boat, or one that knows your type of boat well. Each brokerage page shows its live listings and how to contact them.

  2. Why sell through a broker

A broker markets the boat, answers enquiries, shows her to buyers, handles the sale agreement and holds the deposit in a client account. They also know what similar boats really sell for, which helps you price her to sell.

  3. Prepare the boat

Clean and declutter, fix the small faults a surveyor will list anyway, and service the engines. Gather the paperwork: registration, bill of sale chain, builder's certificate, CE or RCD documents, service records and evidence of VAT status.

  4. Photos and video

Good light and a tidy boat sell better than any description. Your broker can add up to 16 photos, with the best one as the cover. Uploads are resized automatically so the listing stays fast. A walkthrough video, as an MP4 or YouTube link, sits next to the deck plans.

  5. Piani di coperta

Buyers want to understand the layout before a viewing. Brokers can upload a general arrangement drawing (image or PDF) for each deck, or draw a clear schematic in the KeelFair deck plan designer, with cabins, saloon, helm and more on a hull scaled to the boat.

  6. Set the asking price

Look at comparable boats on KeelFair: same model or size, similar year and condition. Decide how the price handles VAT. You can also show "price on request", though a clear price usually brings more enquiries.

  7. What the listing shows

Each listing has a photo gallery, key facts with metres first and feet alongside, a full specification and equipment list, the description, video and deck plans, the brokerage's details and an enquiry form. Buyers can save the boat, add it to compare, and get alerts for similar boats.

  8. Enquiries and viewings

Enquiries go to the brokerage by email and to its team inbox, where any team member can reply. The broker arranges viewings, survey access and sea trials with the buyer.

  9. Offer, survey and completion

The broker negotiates the offer, manages the sale agreement and deposit, and coordinates the survey and sea trial. On completion, the listing is marked sold and leaves the public search.

Domande frequenti

Can I list my boat privately?

Not at the moment. Every listing on KeelFair comes from a member brokerage, which gives buyers a company name and accountable contact on every boat.

What does it cost me as a seller?

The brokerage sets its own commission and terms with you. KeelFair charges the brokerage a flat membership, not a fee per boat or a commission on the sale.

Who writes the listing?

Your brokerage does, from the details and photos you provide. Check the specification and equipment list before it goes live.

Are deck plans to scale?

Plans drawn in the KeelFair designer are clear schematics and are labelled "Schematic only, not to scale". Brokers can upload builder drawings instead where they have them.

What happens when the boat sells?

The broker marks the listing sold and it leaves the public search.
